Medical residency training act gets assent
President mohammed buhari has assented to two major bills.
These are medical residency training act 2018 and the hydro electric power producing areas development commission.The medical training act regulates the medical residency training programme for all medical practitioners and dental surgeons .The training is to be managed by the national post graduate college of Nigeria.The act is directed at ensuring quality and competence of medical practice and practitioners.The hydro electric power producing areas development commission amendment Bill 2018 has reduced the statutory allocation of 30% of revenue from operations of any hydro electric dam to the commission to 10%.The bill gives more powers to the minister to issue policy directives as well as re inforce the statutory power of the nigeria electricity regulatory commission NERC to regulate the electricity industry.
