POLICE ASSURE LAGOSIANS OF SECURITY AMID ALLEGED PLANNED DISRUPTION ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE

The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of their safety following reports of a purported plan by some youths in the Oworonshoki area to disrupt activities on the Third Mainland Bridge.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the Command has deployed adequate security personnel across the state to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
“The Command is aware of information circulating regarding a planned disruption on the Third Mainland Bridge by some youths in the Oworonshoki area. Adequate security measures have been put in place to maintain peace and ensure the safety of all road users,” Adebisi stated.
She urged members of the public to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear, assuring that officers are fully on the ground to prevent any obstruction or disturbance.
“The Command remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives and property, as well as ensuring the free flow of traffic across Lagos State,” the statement added.
The Police also appealed to residents to cooperate with security personnel as they carry out their duties to sustain peace and order in the state.
