Modric Bags MOTM Award In Croatia’s Win Over Russia

Croatia midfielder, Luka Modric, has been voted the man-of-the-match in his country’s quarter-final win against hosts Russia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
 
It was the third time the Real Madrid star will be picking the honour in the tournament.
 
Modric was voted man-of-the-match in Croatia’s first two games in Russia 2018 against Nigeria and Argentina.
 
He also scored Vatreni’s second goal from spot-kick in the 2-0 win against the Super Eagles and another sublime effort from outside the area in their 3-0 defeat of Argentina.
 
The former Tottenham Hotspur player who scored one of the five spot kicks for Croatia against Russia was ranked by FourFourTwo, The Daily Telegraph and ESPN as the best player of the group stage.
 
Croatia advanced to the semi-finals where they will face England in Moscow on Wednesday after 4-3 penalty shoot-out win against the Russians.
 
Scoreline after 120 minutes of football at the Fischt Olympic Stadium, Sochi stood at 2-2.
