Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has directed the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to declare the current incidents of flooding in the country a “national disaster”.
According to BBC reports, the President gave the command following the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency’s alert of flooding in some states like,Rivers Benue and Niger where the flood had almost reached levels that resulted in loss of lives and destruction of property in 2012.
