CHARLY BOY CAMPAIGNS AGAINST ANTI-VOTE BUYING IN OSUN
Leader of the civil society group, ‘OurMumuDonDo’ Charles Oputa,
popularly known as Charly Boy, has organised a public protest against
vote buying on Monday in Osun state ahead of the governorship election
on September, 22.
The group whose members include all Nigeria citizen across the
country, paraded the major streets, markets and parks in Osogbo with
the inscriptions “Don’t sell your Vote” on various sizes of placards.
The rally was said to be part of the Voters Education initiative of
the group to make sure that every citizen is adequately involved in
governance and be able to hold their leaders responsible to every
words of their of their campaign promises.
Charles Oputa also nicknamed “Area-fada” noted that vote-buying is now
becoming a growing threat to Nigeria democracy and that requires an
urgent attention to safeguard the nation’s democracy and provide
competent and qualified leaders.
“We are here to tell the electorate that, as they go to the poll on
Saturday, they should not sell their votes for any other monetary
value, and then suffer for the next 4years.
