The Vatican confirmed that Pope Leo XIV’s inauguration service will be held in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, May 18.
Ten days after Robert Francis Prevost was elected as the first US leader of the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics, world leaders are anticipated to attend the celebration.

According to the Vatican, the new pope will meet with reporters on Monday and with Holy See-affiliated ambassadors on Friday.
On Wednesday, May 21, Leo will address the public for the first time. On May 24, he will meet with key Vatican officials and members of the Roman Curia.
