NIGERIAN ARMY ELIMINATES FIVE MEMBERS OF BOKO HARAM IN BORNO

The Nigerian Army has announced the execution of five Boko Haram
insurgents, in various operations carried out by the force in Bama Local Government Arears of Borno.
Army Public Relations Director, Brig.-Gen. Texas Chukwu who made this known in a statement in Maiduguri, said,the insurgents were eliminated in Kote and Bula Dadobe communities in the LGA.
Chukwu also revealed that this came as a result of joint operations, titled “Operation RAINBOW 15” conducted between Saturday Sept. 15 and Sunday Sept. 16,2018. He said Army had come on the heels of the discovery of makeshift bases, established by the insurgents in Yabiri Kote and Bula Dadode from where they launched attacks on villages in Cameroon and Nigeria.
He added that, various weapons were recovered from them, which included 3 AK 47 rifles, two Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Shells, one primed Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Belt, two motorcycles, eight bicycles, flag as well as IED vest.
He however appealed to members of the public to be supportive of the Army’s efforts to further conquer the insurgent group in the area. He said,“Members of the general public are advised to report any suspicious movement or activities to law enforcement agents for prompt action”.
