Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Eder Militao, according to reports.
The Porto ace is available at a cut-price Ā£42.5million due to an early get-out clause in his contract.
The Portuguese giants want the Brazilian to pen a new deal to hike his release fee up – despite only having signed a new contract until 2023 back in the summer.
The highly-rated 20-year-old has attracted a host of top suitors across Europe – including Manchester City, Barcelona, Roma and Borussia Dortmund.
Reports in Portugal on Wednesday suggested that United are in pole position to land the defenderā€™s signature.
But the Express now claim that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has entered the chase to sign Militao as he looks to bolster his quad for their title run-in.
Klopp already has the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip on the books.
However Klopp could be tempted to make a move, say the Express , with both Gomez and Matip nursing injuries.
Militao joined Porto from Sao Paulo last summer and has one international cap to his name after making his debut for Titeā€™s team back in September when Brazil thrashed El Salvador 5-0.
