WE HAVE NOT CANCELED ELECTIONS ANYWHERE IN NIGERIA – INEC
Joseph Omoniyi
Contrary to some reports making rounds on Social media about the cancellation of the elections in some states due to record of violence, the National Independent Electoral Commission, INEC has stated that no where in Nigeria has election been cancelled.
This statement was made by the Commission’s Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu during the media briefing this afternoon.
Yakubu also warned the public to disregard election results currently circulating on social media, as it only INEC that has the constitutional authority to release the official election results.
INEC holds a media briefing by 6pm.
