BREAKING: WOLVES STUN MAN CITY 2-0 AT ETIHAD
An extraordinary match at the Etihad Stadium saw Wolves run out as 2-0 winners following Traore’s two second-half goals.
The visitors had plenty of opportunities to take the lead in the first half, as their counter-attacking threat saw both Cutrone and Jimenez sent through on goal who both couldn’t find the target from one-on-one situations.
After a frustrating first half, the hosts then had more clear-cut chances in the second period as David Silva struck the crossbar and Bernardo Silva saw his close-range effort blocked.
However, Wolves then took the lead when Jimenez surged forward from deep before feeding Traore just inside the box, who tucked the ball into the bottom right-hand corner.
City then continued to press, but they were then caught on the counter-attack again right at the death when Traore was played through on goal and curled the ball into the bottom corner in a similar fashion to the first.
The Pep Guardiola sides are now 8 points behind league leaders, Liverpool.
