Ahmed Idris, the Federation’s Accountant General, has been suspended indefinitely.
On Wednesday, Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, suspended Idris.
His suspension came after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged him with fraud of N80 billion.
Idris’ arrest on Monday, Wilson Uwajaren, a spokesman for the EFCC, confirmed.
He was arrested after he failed to respond to the EFCC’s invitations.
Idris allegedly diverted funds and laundered N80 billion, according to the anti-graft agency.
