CRIME: POLICE ARREST ALL SUSPECTS BEHIND MAMBILLAH HOTEL ARMED ROBBERY
Six infamous suspects are in custody after being identified by the Lagos State Police Command as being responsible for the heinous May 11, 2022 robbery attack on the Mambillah Hotel in Owutu, Ikorodu.
The accused were detained after a meticulous, careful, and discrete investigation that was directed and closely watched by CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, psc, mnim, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
Lekan Adeoye (m), Ojo Akeredolu (m), Quadri Balogun (m), Ahmed Oke (m), John Toluwalashe (m), and Azeez Akinpelu (m) are the suspects who were tracked to their hiding place at Oju-irin Abattoir in Lagos State, where they were ultimately captured. Taye, the seventh suspect, was taken out by police during a gunfight. The suspects’ possessions included two locally produced items.
Recall that the armed group broke into the Mambillah Hotel, stole goods from the guests, and then shot the hotel security guard dead as they tried to flee before the police arrived.
The hotel’s earlier detained supervisor and other employees were later released after additional inquiries exonerated them of all wrongdoing.
As the investigation is coming to a close, suspects will be charged in court.
