NIGERIAN CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY SUSPENDS DANA AIRLINES
With effect from midnight on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended Dana Airlines’ Air Transport Licence (ATL) and Air Operator Certificate (AOC) indefinitely.
The suspension was made in accordance with Sections 35(2), 3(b), and (4) of the Civil Aviation Act of 2006 and Part 1.3.3.3(a)(1) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs), 2015.
The management of Dana Airlines has since received the suspension order that was issued by the Director General, Captain Musa Nuhu.
The Authority’s financial and economic health audit of the airline and the results of a recent investigation into the flight operations of the airline, which showed that Dana Airlines is no longer in a position to meet its financial obligations and conduct safe flight operations, led to the decision.
While the safety of flight operations takes precedence over all other considerations, the NCAA understands the detrimental impact this preventative action will have on the passengers of the airline and the traveling public and asks for their understanding.
