In a surpise video call, the queen of Afrobeats and music from Nigeria, Tiwa Savage, praised Tobi Amusan for her great achievement in the hurdles competition at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
At the 18th World Athletics Championships, which took place at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, Amusan received numerous awards for holding the 100-meter hurdles world record.
In a video congratulating the 25-year-old Amusan, who raced a time of 12.06 seconds to win gold in the championship final on Sunday, Savage gushed over her.
The 42-year-old artist and Amusan, who has been attempting to contact her via Facetime, took a virtual break together.
Savage thanked Amusan for inspiring pride in Nigerians, particularly in the women, while praying for him.
Savage, meanwhile, has vowed to support the athlete wholeheartedly and said, “Thank you, thank you. God’s blessings on you I fully support you in whatever way, no matter what. Tiwa gushed over Tobi and added, “I’m really pleased for you.
“I was going to post about you. You are attempting to contact me, Papa said in a message that I received when I picked up my phone. I exclaimed, “Wow!” She said, “I can’t wait to meet you.”
Savage wrote, “I was literally going to upload you and got this message. @ihurdle-33.0” under a video she shared. Today, you inspired and made everyone in Nigeria proud, especially the women. God be with you
