PHOTO: NEMA OFFICIALS RESCUE NINE PEOPLE TRAPPED IN LAGOS BUILDING
Following the torrential rainfall that lasted about four hours in the early hours of Monday, the Nigeria National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), have been reported to have rescued about nine people said to be trapped in a sinking Storey building in Lagos.
According to reports, NEMA had received a distress alert on the building located at 47 Akinwunmi Street around Mende, Maryland, Ikeja Area of Lagos State.
The advance team after close observation have since called for reinforcement of personnel
The torrential downpour flooded lots of communities in Lagos thereby making many stranded.
One of the trapped victims, identified as Ms Blessing disclosed that those trapped in the building were up to nine and were mostly women.
She added that the Landlord had escaped the building using a ladder.
The Agencies currently on ground now are LASEMA, State Fire Service and Police Disaster Management Unit.
