TUCHEL TURNS DOWN CHANCE TO TAKE CHARGE OF BAYER LEVERKUSEN
Former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has turned down the opportunity to manage Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga, who were looking for a manager to replace under-pressure Gerardo Seoane.
Leverkusen have endured a misable start to the season but the job comes too soon for the 49-year-old, who doesn’t appear to be in a rush for a new management position just yet following his dismissal from Chelsea earlier this month.
Leverkusen are still managed by Gerardo Seoane and they are in the relegation zone having taken just five points from eight games so far.
Tuchel possesses extensive experience of managing in the Bundesliga having previously coached Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.
Tuchel who led Chelsea to their second Champions League in 2021, had a difficult relationship with new owner Todd Boehly and was reportedly left frustrated at his increased involvement in the club’s transfer activity.
