Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs have been issued a deadline of November 18 to complete all processes of Club Licensing for the 2022/23 season.

In a circular signed by Davidson Owumi, the Head of Operations and dated November 15, the clubs were told that “any club that fails to complete the club licensing requirements risks being foreclosed from participating in the 2022/23 season”.

Several circulars have been issued including the timeline and detailed procedure on submitting to the Club Licensing regulations which is a pre-requisite for participation in the NPFL. The last memo to clubs on this was dated October 25 and Owumi reiterated that “this should be considered the last extension of time for all concerned clubs to enable them secure licences to participate in the new season”.

Club Licensing has been made mandatory by world football governing body, FIFA and Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a requirement for clubs affiliated to member Federations to play professional football.
