
#NIGERIAELECTIONS2023: ORJI KALU ELECTED SENATOR

Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu, the Chief Whip of the Senate and the All Progressives Congress candidate for Abia North Senatorial District, has been proclaimed the victor of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to the Nation’s Electoral Umpire, the former Governor received 30,805 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Nnamdi Iroh of the Labour Party, who received 25,540 votes, and Chief Mao Ohuabunwa of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 15, 175 votes.
Mr Chinedu Nnamdi, the returning officer for Abia-North, pronounced Kalu the winner after tallying the most legitimate votes cast.
