
2023 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS: SOLDIERS ENFORCE RESTRICTIONS IN OSUN STATE
On Saturday morning, voters were prevented from going out to their polling units by armed soldiers enforcing a restriction order in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.
Voters affected reside aroundthe Owode, Ede areas of the state and were held up in front of the Osun State House of Assembly for disobeying the order.
Lawmaker Taofeek Badmus representing the Osogbo State Constituency was seen pleading with the soldiers to allow for free movement.
Other voters also pleaded as their Polling Units were far from their homes but the soldiers still did not give way to them. The reason being that the order for restriction of movement was to prevent disruption of the electoral process.
