RIHANNA REVEALS BABY’S NAME ONE YEAR AFTER GIVING BIRTH
By Adeniyi Onaara
Pop star Rihanna caused controversy on social media when her child’s name was revealed a year after her birth.
Singer A$AP Rocky, 35, and partner Rihanna, 34, gave birth to their first child on May 13, 2022.
According to the boy’s birth certificate obtained by the Daily Mail, his name is RZA Asselston Mayers. The baby’s name is RZA, 53, the producer and rapper behind the Wu-Tang Clan, a legendary hip-hop group comprised of RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta. It is believed to be named after Kira and the late Old Dirty Bitard.
The multiple Grammy Award-winning singer has also been spotted wearing costumes representing the Wu-Tang Clan since birth, hinting at the claim. Born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, RZA is believed to have received his father’s middle name, Aselston. Until his name was announced, his name was thought to be Noah.
Fans have since taken to various social media platforms to share their thoughts on the announcement.
A fan tweeted: “Rihanna didn’t name her baby after the Wu-Tang clan. I can understand why she tried to keep it a secret.”
There was also another tweet. “I know Rihanna wasn’t going to name her baby like that…”
“I know Rihanna made A$AP pick that awful name. ‘She’s really in love,'” said another.
