BAD BOY TIMZ – I WAS SHOT IN THE EYE BY ASSASSINS IN MUSHIN AT AGE NINE
By Adeniyi Onaara
When asked about the present state of his wounded eye, the singer replied, “The eye is fine, I’m supposed to do another operation soon.”
Bad Boy Timz, the Nigerian musician and songwriter whose real name is Olorunyomi Oloruntimilehin, has revealed a harrowing episode from his childhood that nearly cost him his sight when he was nine years old.
During a recent interview with Adesope Olajide, a Nigerian media personality residing in the UK, Bad Boy Timz recalled getting shot in the eye by assassins targeting his family in Lagos’ Mushin neighborhood several years ago.
When he recalled the incident, he stated that the assassins had targeted his family’s automobile and fired fire. Sadly, the original target was his father’s head, but the bullet struck his eye instead.
“They weren’t even stopping the car, they just shot the bunnet and started spraying.” They weren’t hunting for an Igbo family, and it wasn’t a robbery. They were astonished when they heard my mother reply, “e je kin ko awon omo mi.”It was only myself, my mother, my father, and my immediate older brother in the car in Lagos, Mushin to be exact.
They just came up behind us and started shooting; they didn’t even tell us to stop, and I got shot in the eye because they were aiming for my father’s head, and it went straight into my eye,” he explained.
He stated that, while his eye is currently healthy, he is planning another medical treatment in the near future.
