
NAIJA SUPER 8: RIVERS UNITED, YOBE STARS CRASH OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT

Rivers United secured a consolation win against Yobe Stars despite crashing out of the Naija Super 8 tournament on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan Lagos.
The Yobe Desert Stars, who were also eliminated from the competition, were defeated by the Portharcourt-based team thanks to a goal in the first half.
Rivers United only managed one victory out of three games, while Yobe Stars managed just one point from a draw with Lobi Stars.
Joseph Onoja of Rivers United was awarded the man of the match.
Lobi Stars and Akwa Ibom United had booked their place in the semi finals of the tournament in an earlier encounter that ended 2-0 in favour of Lobi Stars.
