
PROTESTING BENUE WOMEN BLOCK MAKURDI-ABUJA HIGHWAY OVER DEATH OF FIVE OTHERS
Following the massacre of five people by suspected herders on Friday, protesting Benue women set up a barricade on the federal highway connecting Makurdi, Laafia, and Abuja.
Five people were reportedly slain in two separate attacks by suspected herdsmen in two communities in the Guma Local Government area of Benue State, according to a local who only went by the name Sunny.
Three people were slain Thursday night at Ngban, and two more were killed at Nyian, according to Sunny, who spoke to our journalist on the phone.
Five individuals were slain by suspected herders, according to Guma Local Government security official Christopher Waku, who confirmed the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, was not reachable because her phone kept ringing.
