
EIGHT TRAVELLERS FEARED DEAD, 52 INJURED IN YOBE ACCIDENT
52 people were reportedly hurt and about 8 passengers lost their lives in an accident involving a canter truck and a trailer on the Potiskum-Nangere road in Yobe State.
While travelling to the well-known Potiskum livestock market, one of the trucks skidded out of control.
Adamu Hassan, an eyewitness, informed the Channels Television correspondent that some of the dead had been sent to Potiskum Specialist Hospital, while others remained at the General Hospital in Sabon Garin, Nangere, at the time this report was filled up.
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and State Emergency Management Agency workers were seen removing the casualties to a nearby medical facility; however, FRSC officials have not officially confirmed the occurrence.
