LAGOS STATE EXAMINATIONS BOARD TO HOLD ONE-DAY SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME FOR STAKEHOLDERS

The Lagos State Examinations Board has announced it’s intention to hold a one-day sensitization programme on Revalidation of Schools’ Examination Codes for concerned stakeholders in the State.

This was made known in a Statement signed by the Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Adebayo Orunsolu on Wednesday.

The sensitization programme, which has been scheduled to hold on Thursday, 26th October, 2023, according to the educationist, is organized in order to educate and enlighten the invited associations on the need for public and approved Private Schools in the state, to revalidate the examination codes of their schools to eliminate existing multiple codes and facilitate proper documentation of records and also sanitize the information of schools on the database of the Board.

He noted that representatives of each associations, particularly the President and Secretary are expected to be in attendance.

The statement reads in part, “PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

ONE – DAY SENSITISATION PROGRAMME ON REVALIDATION OF SCHOOLS’ EXAMINATION CODES FOR CONCERNED STAKEHOLDERS IN LAGOS STATE

The Lagos State Examinations Board wishes to inform the general public, especially the Public Schools Administrators and Approved Private Schools Owners in Lagos State that a one-day sensitisation programme for the revalidation of the examination codes of Public and Approved Private Schools in the State has been scheduled for Thursday, 26th October, 2023.
The sensitisation programme will take place at the Conference Room of the Board at 10 a.m. prompt.
The objective of the exercise is to educate and enlighten the invited associations on the need for Public and Approved Private Schools in the State to revalidate the Examination Codes of their Schools to eliminate the existing multiple codes and facilitate proper documentation of records and also sanitize the information of schools on the database of the Board.

Representatives of each of the under listed associations, particularly the President and the Secretary, are expected to attend the sensitisation programme.

The invited Associations are as follows:

1. National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS)
2. Association of Islamic Model Schools
3. League of Muslim Proprietors (LEAMPS)
4. Association of Formidable Education Developers (AFED)
5. Lagos State Baptist Conference
6. Lagos Methodist Schools
7. Christ Redeemers Schools Mgt.
8. Association of Providers of Education in Nigeria (APEN)
9. Catholic Mission Schools
10. Lagos Anglican Diocese
11. Association of International Schools Educators of Nigeria (AISEN)
12. Accredited Private Schools Union (APSU)
13. Education Reformers Association of Nigeria
14. Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
15. Anwar-UL-Islam Group of Schools
16. Muslim Schools
17. PEDAN
18. INTERP
19. Association of Private School Owners
20. MUSPASS

The Board, therefore, implores the invited Associations to kindly inform all schools under their jurisdiction that a verification exercise on the revalidation of Schools’ Examination Codes is scheduled to hold for two (2) weeks starting from Wednesday, 1st November and ending on Wednesday, 15th November, 2023 at the premises of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

The Schools to be attended to during the first week of the Verification exercise are those operating in AGEGE, IFAKO IJAIYE, IKORODU, LAGOS ISLAND, IBEJU LEKKI, LAGOS MAINLAND, APAPA, AMUWO ODOFIN, IKEJA, AJIF AND MUSHIN Local Government Areas of the State.

Schools scheduled for the second week of the verification exercise are those operating in ALIMOSHO, SOMOLU, KOSOFE, ETI OSA, EPE, SURULERE, OJO, BADAGRY and OSHODI Local Government Areas.

The underlisted documents will be required for the confirmation of the existing School Examination Codes:
A. Letter of Approval from the Ministry of Education
B. Subject Recognition Inspection (SRI) Report for BECE only
C. One of the old payment receipts
D. Receipt for payment for School Code
E. School Code Approval Letter
F. Payment receipts for the last examination

The Board, therefore, solicits the cooperation of all concerned stakeholders in the State to make the exercise a successful one.
