JUST IN: SDP CALLS FOR CANCELLATION OF GUBER ELECTION IN KOGI CENTRAL

Read Time:48 Second

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been urged by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to nullify the results of the Kogi Central election, while the collation of Kogi State’s governorship election results for November 11, 2023, is still underway.

David Edibo, the SDP’s agent, sent a letter of petition to the State Returning Officer stating that his party did not recognise the results of the elections in the five local government districts within the senatorial district.

Kogi Central is home to both governor Yahaya Bello and All Progressive Congress (APC) contender Usman Adodo.

Idris King, an APC representative, opposed the SDP’s petition once more.

Some of the top contenders in the November 11, 2023 poll in Kogi include Murtala Ajaka of the SDP; Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party (ADC); Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); and Usman Ododo of the APC, who is an ex-Auditor General of Local Government in Kogi under Bello.
