DELTA POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTED ROBBERS, CULTISTS
The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers and recovered one AK-47 magazine in Agbor-Obi, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
DSP Bright Edafe, the state Police Public Relations Officer, made the announcement in Asaba, the state capital, on Thursday.
Edafe disclosed that the command recovered two locally made cut-to-size guns, one AK-47 magazine loaded with five rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, three rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition, and two live cartridges among others.
He said, “Operatives of Agbor Area Command while acting on credible intelligence, stormed Kelubia Street Agbor-Obi and apprehended four suspects.
“The suspects are Ogbolu Peter 35, Justice Nmor 28, Precious Odilu 26 and a 27-year-old female Queen Mba, all of Agbor Community.
“Preliminary investigation led to the search of their premises during which two locally-made cut-to-size guns, one AK-47 magazine loaded with five rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, three rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition, two live cartridges among others were recovered.”
He added that the suspects and exhibits are in police custody while investigation has commenced to arrest other members of the criminal gang.
In another development, Crack Squad members received information about a cult activity at Ogwashi-Uku, Ubulu-Uku Road.
According to Edafe, Crack Squad members blocked off the area and arrested one Chigozie John 36, as well as recovering one locally produced cut-to-size gun with one live cartridge.
He further reminded them that the opportunity given by IGP Kayode Egbetokun for persons in possession of firearms to return to the nearest police station is still open
