NSCDC DEPLOYS ARMED PERSONNEL TO SECURE NIGERIA’S BORDERS WITH NIGER REPUBLIC
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, or NSCDC, announced that it has sent out fully equipped tactical men to guard Katsina State and the Nigerian borders with the Niger Republic.
When Mr. Muhammad Umar, the newly appointed Katsina Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), paid him a courtesy call, Mr. Jamilu Indabawa, the state’s NSCDC Commandant, revealed this.
He said that the personnel’s deployment was a component of the state’s security agencies working together in concert to guarantee public safety and security.
Additionally, Indabawa valued the current collaborative partnership between the two governmental entities.
He added that the command would keep collaborating with the customs agency on joint operations and intelligence projects.
Umar had argued for greater cooperation in information gathering, border exercises, and joint operations.
The comptroller reaffirmed, saying, “NCS cannot accomplish this on its own, particularly given the state’s large geographic region.
