DELTA GOVERNORSHIP POLLS: COURT OF APPEAL UPHOLDS OBOREVWORI’S VICTORY
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, was declared the winner of the March 18 governorship election by the Court of Appeal.
Almost two months after Oborevwori’s election was upheld by the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, the ruling was handed down on Friday.
The plea submitted by All Progressive Congress (APC) member and former Senate deputy president Ovie Omo-Agege was denied by the three-member panel presided over by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu.
The panel determined that the petition was speculative and without merit, noting that it contained unsupported assertions.
