AIG ABUBAKAR DAURA WARNS POLICEMEN AGAINST CORRUPTION

Officers and men of Kebbi State Command have been tasked by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Lawal Abubakar Daura, who oversees Zone 10 Headquarters in Sokoto, to abstain from corruption in the performance of their constitutional duties.

On Thursday, during a one-day familiarisation tour with the Kebbi State Command, the AIG made this statement while leading his management team.

In a statement released to reporters on Saturday morning and signed by ASP Uthman Yawub Mohammed, the AIG urged the officers and men of the command to carry out their duties with diligence in order to reduce kidnapping and other security-related issues so that socioeconomic activities can flourish in the state. The AIG also lectured the officers and men of the command.

In accordance with Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s community policing approach, he also counselled them to enlist the assistance and collaboration of the general population.

In the same vein, Daura, “also called on Officers of the Command to ensure discreet investigation of their cases to secure conviction in court as well as shun all forms of corrupt practices in dealing with members of the public”

In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Chris Aimionowane, briefed the visiting AIG on the proactive measures adopted by the Command in ensuring security in the state, as well as the tremendous successes recorded by the Command after assumption of duty, as the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command.

Daura also paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, where he solicited his continued support and cooperation for the police to discharge their duty of protecting the lives and property of the good people of Kebbi State optimally.
