SPORT: EINTRACHT FRANKHURT THRASH BAYERN 5-1 IN BUNDESLIGA
After losing their opening league match of the season 5-1 in Frankfurt, Bayern Munich’s championship defence took a knock as Bayer Leverkusen took the opportunity to take a six-point lead atop the Bundesliga.
With goals from Omar Marmoush, Junior Dina Ebimbe, and Hugo Larsson, the hosts stormed into an incredible 3-0 first-half lead in a rainy and chaotic match in Frankfurt, outlasting a woeful Bayern. Dino Toppmoeller’s team prevailed.
Just before halftime, Joshua Kimmich pulled Bayern back into the game, but French midfielder Ebimbe had other ideas. He capped a brilliant counterattack that started when Dayot Upamecano made a mistake, making it four goals.
