
JUST IN: RIVERS GOV’T COMMENCES ASSEMBLY BUILDING DEMOLITION (VIDEO)

The Government of Rivers State has commenced the demolition of the State House of Assembly building on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, for reconstruction.
The project was however being undertaken by the State Government, a Government source revealed.
The demolition was coming some weeks after an unknown political thugs burned down the hallowed chambers of the State Assembly.
It should be recalled that there was a move by some lawmakers to impeach the sitting Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, involving the Legislative Arm of the state in a serious crisis.
Notwithstanding, over 10 bulldozers, excavators, and other heavy-duty machines were brought to the Assembly complex as early as 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
The demolition commenced at about 7:30 a.m. In addition, the process is still ongoing as of the time of this report.
