SOMOLU GENERAL HOSPITAL RECORDS FIRST BABIES BIRTH IN 2024
….As The Mothers and Babies Receive Gifts
According to Dr. Babalola Dokun Ogungbemile, the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of General Hospital, Somolu, the hospital had two first-born babies in 2024.
Presenting the Governor’s gifts to the new moms and infants on Tuesday, Ogungbemile credited the hospital’s success to the high standard of healthcare provided by the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, which was made possible by the latter’s sound governance as envisioned in the T. H. E. M.E. S Plus Agenda.
According to him, “The General Hospital, Somolu has the wherewithal to care for natal, postnatal and different health issues affecting mother and child. Expectant and new mothers should not hesitate to patronise General Hospital Somolu, because we have the state-of-the-art
equipment and infrastructure to handle all maternal and childcare services”.
The Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director thanked Mr. Governor for his unwavering support of the hospital in all its forms. He also expressed his deep gratitude to God for the gift of life, particularly in light of the hospital’s successful start to the new year with the delivery of two babies.
He congratulated the new moms and gave them assurances about providing their newborns with quality postnatal care.
Dr. Sherif Toyin Salako, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, who led the delivery team, confirmed that on January 1, 2024, at 12:15 a.m., Mrs. Mosunmola Ojebunmi gave birth to a baby girl via Caesarean section, weighing 3 kg at birth; while at 3:30 a.m., Mrs. Adewunmi Kudirat Lawal gave birth to a baby girl via spontaneous virginal delivery, weighing 2.3 kg.
He concluded by saying that the women and infants are in stable health and in good shape.
