BREAKING: S’COURT AFFIRMS BALA MOHAMMED’S ELECTION AS GOVERNOR OF BAUCHI
The Supreme court has affirmed the election of Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Bauchi State governor.
The apex court dismissed the appeal by Sadique Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress for lacking in merit.
In November, the appellate court upheld Governor Bala Mohammed’s victory in the March 18 governorship race.
This came after the panel had previously upheld Mohammed’s triumph.
The three justices on the Court of Appeal panel decided unanimously that each party in the case should pay their own expenses; hence, they awarded no costs in their decision.
The appellant’s plea order was read aloud by Justice Chidi Nwaoma Uwa, the presiding judge, before the appeal court.
The appellant had filed plea number one, arguing that the election should be void due to improper filling of the forms and booklets used in the poll. The appellant was unable to provide sufficient evidence to support this accusation, the court decided.
