AFCON: SUPER EGALES NOT FAVORITES, MUST FIGHT HARD TO DEFEAT ANGOLA
Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro refused to accept the favourites tag ahead of his side’s quarter-final clash with Angola.
The three-time champions have been tipped to beat the Palancas Negras after getting past the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the Round of 16.
Peseiro stated that Pedro Goncalves’ side will not be an easy opponent for his side.
The Portuguese further said it is important for his players to approach the game with commitment and great spirit.
“It’s going to be a tough game between two teams that want to reach the final. Angola is not big name but they have good players and have played well in this competition .It’s going to be a tough game,” Peseiro said during his interaction with the media in Abidjan on Thursday.
“It will be a tough game but we need to approach it with vigour , commitment and good spirit to come out with a win.
“It’s going to be 50/50 for the two teams. I believe in my team, we want to win even though we won’t accept we are the favourites. We will go there and fight.”
The highly anticipated encounter will hold at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Friday.
