SHETTIMA, MAKINDE, OBASEKI IN ONDO FOR AKEREDOLU’S BURIAL
The ancient town of Owo, Ondo State is today playing host to people from all walks of life who stormed the town to grace the final burial ceremony of the late former governor of the state, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu.
Akeredolu, who died on Wednesday December 27, 2023 during a protracted illness in German hospital would be laid to rest today at the burial site in the community.
The funeral service is ongoing at the St. Andrew’s Cathedral Anglican Church, Imola, Owo.
Vice President Kashim Shettima is among the dignitaries who are in the church for the funeral service.
Other dignitaries include, the Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde; Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje among others.
According to the burial arrangement, the late governor would be interred at a burial ground in the town and would be strictly attended only by the immediate Akeredolu’s family.
