LAGOS ESTAB MINISTRY HOSTS MEDICAL GUILD, RESIDENT DOCTORS

The management team of the Ministry of Establishments and Training today hosted the executives of the Nigerian Medical Guild and Association of Resident Doctors who were on a courtesy visit to the ministry.

 

In his welcome remark, the Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo expressed appreciation to the executives of the two bodies for deeming it fit to visit the ministry after their election.

 

Describing the two bodies as pillars in the healthcare system of the State, he said the visit underscored the longstanding relationship between the bodies and the Government.

 

Ayantayo averred that the recent election of new executives for the two unions marked an exciting chapter for the Medical Guild and congratulated the visitors for assuming leadership positions.

 

According to him, “We recognise and value the cooperation between the Government and the Medical Guild as well as the Association of Resident Doctors and we remain committed to working together to address challenges to elevate the healthcare standards in the State”.

 

He assured them of the Government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the welfare and professional development of the two medical bodies.

 

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Guild, Lagos Chapter, Dr. Moruf Abdulsalam thanked the management for the warm reception accorded them and expressed appreciation to the ministry for their support. He specially congratulated the Permanent Secretary for her deployment to the ministry.

 

The two bodies used the opportunity to seek the assistance of the ministry to address some personnel issues affecting their members.
