LAGOS FIRE SERVICE PARTNERS NIGERIAN BOTTLING COMPANY ON SAFETY MEASURES
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has visited the headquarters of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) at Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi Ikeja, Lagos, to strengthen cooperation in advancing fire safety measures within the company and environs.
Speaking during the visit, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, highlighted the importance of proactive fire safety measures to prevent fire disasters, citing a significant increase in fire incidents, with 536 reported cases between January and February 2024.
Adeseye also briefed the NBC team on the forthcoming Lagos International Fire Safety Conference slated for May 2024, encouraging their staff to actively participate in the workshop sessions scheduled during the conference.
The conference, according to her, will offer them invaluable insights into cutting-edge inventions, equipment, and knowledge-sharing pertinent to fire safety, thereby enhancing both company operations and employee well-being.
She also reminded NBC of the mandatory requirement for all companies to acquire fire safety certification, emphasising the critical importance of the organisation’s adherence to regulation to ensure the safety of its operations, employees, and stakeholders alike.
In response, Adetoba Idris, leading the NBC team, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, acknowledging the paramount significance of prioritising safety measures to safeguard operations and the communities served.
He, however, assured the visiting team of NBC’s readiness to prevent fire and related emergencies while reiterating the company’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling certification requirements.
Furthermore, Idris affirmed NBC’s prompt engagement in the requisite documentation processes for certification, pledging effective communication with the company’s management for necessary action.
