In a press release made available to journalists on Saturday, the spokesperson for the Command, Rotimi Oladokun said, “Idris has been allocated a shared cell with other convicted inmates as there are no en-suite or ‘one bedroom flat’ style cells in the Custodial Centre as the cell blocks infrastructure are built as shared buildings, to accommodate multiple inmates.”

The Service also said that Bobrisky is being remanded in a male custodial centre, wears male designated correctional clothing for convicted inmates and is being treated like every other inmate without any special amenities or privileges accorded.

In a subsequent conversation, the spokesperson denied a viral post on social media which claimed that Bobrisky donated chairs to the correctional centre.

A few days ago, images of plastic white chairs engraved with the name of Bobrisky donating same to the KiriKiri Correctional Centre surfaced on social media. It was reported that he donated them after he noticed that his guests had no seats to sit on when they visited.

When asked about this, Oladokun said, “With respect to donation, if there was a formal donation there will be an acknowledgement or documentation to that fact, where representation of both donor and done are present.
