DON’T ALLOW U.S, FRENCH MILITARY BASES IN NIGERIA – SHEHU SANI URGES TINUBU
Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has urged President Bola Tinubu not to allow the United States and French military bases in Nigeria.
Sani made this appeal in a statement via his verified X handle on Tuesday.
He stated, “The French forces and American troops evicted from Niger Republic must not be accommodated in our Nigerian soil.
“President Tinubu should fully equip and fund our military and other security forces to confront our security challenges. This should be clear and simple.”
Meanwhile, the Kaduna senator has urged Tinubu to properly fund Nigeria’s military to confront the country’s challenges.
Recall that some Northern leaders urged the Nigerian government not to allow the US and the French governments to relocate their military bases from the Sahel to Nigeria.
They warned that allowing the US and the French governments to carry out such a move posed danger to Nigeria.
They claimed that the US and the French governments have been lobbying Nigeria and other countries in the region, to sign new defence pacts allowing them to redeploy their expelled troops.
