LAGOS GOVT SUSPENDS PLANNED E-CALL UP SYSTEM FOR LEKKI-EPE CORRIDOR
The Lekki-Epe corridor’s scheduled implementation of the E-Call-Up system has been postponed till further notice by the Lagos State Government.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the commissioner of transportation, made this announcement on Friday in a statement.
According to Osiyemi,” After further consideration of Stakeholders request to extend the timeliness in order to give adequate room for full compliance, the Lagos State Government has postponed the commencement of E-Call Up system on Lekki-Epe corridor.”
As a result, Osiyemi advised all parties involved to take advantage of the chance to intensify the necessary preparations in order to ensure the effective launch of the technology-driven truck mobility solution on the Lekki-Epe corridor.
Recall that in order to address the severe traffic jams created by truckers, the state government intended to start the e-call system functioning on the Lekki-Epe axis.
