PARIS 2024: OBORUDUDU CRUISES INTO WOMEN’S WRESTLING SEMIS
Blessing Oborududu qualified for the semi-final of the women’s wrestling 68kg after defeating her French opponent Koumba Larroque.
Oborodudu won the keenly contested quarter-final clash 6-2.
The 35-year-old will face Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan in the semi-final.
The 12-time African champion is already guaranteed a medal no matter the outcome of her clash with Zhumanazarova.
She will however hope to surpass her silver medal finish three years ago in Tokyo.
Earlier, Oborodudu defeated her Canadian opponent Linda Morais in the quarter-finals.
The powerful wrestler had a slow start conceding two points but she rallied in the second half, to score six consecutive points, going on to win the match 8-2 on points.
