JUST IN: IRANIAN VP RESIGNS AFTER 11 DAYS IN OFFICE
Just 11 days after taking office, Iran’s Vice President, Mohammed Javad Zarif, announced his resignation from President Massud Pezeshkian’s cabinet.
“I am not satisfied with my work and regret that I have not been able to fulfill expectations,” Zarif said in his resignation announcement on X.
His resignation was explained by his displeasure with the ministers chosen for Pezeshkian’s new cabinet.
Zarif stated that he was not initially in favor of at least seven of the 19 ministers that were selected.
Since taking office at the end of July, Pezeshkian has faced two major challenges. This is the second one.
