– Under Investigation
Policemen who allegedly extorted the sum of N1Million from three youth corps members in the Surulere area of Lagos metropolis have been identified.
In a post on his social media account, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin said “They are men of Area C, Surulere. The Area Commander has been contacted. The men have been identified. They are being interrogated. However, we need more than a verbal accusation. Kindly tell us more. The spy camera would have captured the exchange of money too, be it cash or transfer. Give us something to work it. Update as regards the outcome of the ongoing interrogation will be made available.”
In a series of videos apparently shot with hidden cameras, the youth corps members, were stopped by policemen around the National Stadium area, and were asked to produce their vehicle particulars.
Things went south when the youth corps member driving the vehicle couldn’t produce a physical copy of his drivers licence.
They were taken to the headquarters of the Area C Command, Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu House, Barracks Bus-Stop, Surulere; where they were eventually forced to make series of transfers to accounts provided by the policemen.
