VDM SET TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY FOR WEARING POLICE UNIFORM
Martins Otse, sometimes referred to as VeryDarkMan or VDM, is scheduled to appear in court today for dressing like a police officer.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, the FCT Police Command stated that it is leading the prosecution.
VeryDarkMan was accused of wearing Nigeria Police Force outfits “without authorisation” in a recently circulated video.
His arraignment, according to the police, highlighted the force’s position on preserving the integrity of its clothes and prohibiting unauthorised use.
The NPF’s statement read, “Martins Otse is set to appear in court today following allegations of impersonation related to the unauthorised use of Nigeria Police Force uniforms in a viral social media video.
“The FCT Police Command is actively handling the case, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its symbols and preventing their misuse.
“Interested persons are encouraged to follow up on the proceedings as the case unfolds.”
NPF had condemned VeryDarkMan in the recently released video, where he described himself as CSP VeryDarkMan and Nigeria’s “number one online police officer”
