MISSING MAN FOUND DEAD NEAR OGUN STREAM
In Ogun State’s Ojowo neighborhood in Ijebu Igbo, a 35-year-old man named Felix Vhimga was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances.
The dead had disappeared after spending Monday in the village with his brother, Sunday Robert.
However, Vhimga was reported to have said goodbye to his brother at approximately 9 p.m. as his visit came to an end.
Robert, who had sounded the alert over his location, claimed that he had left his house and would not be able to return home the following day.
Robert later started looking for him, according to a police source who talked to our correspondent since he was not allowed to discuss the situation.
The source claimed that Roberts hurried to the police station to file a report after attempts to find him were unsuccessful.
He said, “Sunday Terkuma Robert, brother of the deceased, reported to the police that Felix visited him on November 11 and left around 9 pm. However, when Felix couldn’t be heard from the next day, Robert searched for him. It was after he could not locate him that he came to the station.”
However, the police source disclosed that the deceased’s body was later discovered in the neighborhood close to a stream.
The source claims that the deceased was found with a wound near the left eye on the forehead at around 7 a.m.
“The body was discovered around 7 am on November 13 with a wound on the forehead, close to the left eye. A team of policemen inspected the scene, evacuated the corpse, and deposited it at Alayangbe Private Morgue for autopsy.”
The case was said to have been transferred to the State CriminaI Investigation Department, Ijebu Igbo.
“Investigation is ongoing into the incident,” the source added.
SP Omolola Odutola, the public relations officer for the Ogun State Police, was unavailable since her phone could not answer calls. At the time this report was submitted, she had not responded to a text message that had been sent to her.
