Read Time:1 Minute, 3 Second

In his first public appearance, former governor Ifeanyi Okowa accompanied Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to a singing service honoring Mrs. Victoria Ossai Obielum, the mother of well-known politician Godwill Obielum.

Due to a purported N1.3 trillion scam, Okowa was detained on Monday, November 4, 2024, but was freed on Friday after his passport was confiscated.

Solomon Arenyenka, Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, members of the party’s state executive committee, political luminaries, and senior and retired security officers were among the many people who attended the well-attended event.

On Wednesday, Obielum’s home in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, hosted the musical service.

Pastor Ifeanyi Ogude of Heaven Bound Christian International Church Ministry gave a sermon at the event about the meaning of life and exhorted Christians to commit their lives to serving both God and people.

He said, “Nobody knows when death will come, and as such, people should be prepared by living a good life and leaving worthy legacies behind, as they will be remembered for what they did.”

Mrs. Obielum died on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 87. Her remains will be buried in Obielum’s home in Ushie, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
