JUST IN: FOUR CONFIRED DEAD AS MONDAY SIT-AT-HOME TURNS BLOODY IN ANAMBRA
According to reports, four people were killed Monday in a deadly incident at Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area, and Abatete, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, when unidentified gunmen opened fire on some local residents and security personnel.
Witnesses claim that the gunmen, who were allegedly enforcing the Monday sit-at-home, arrived in the Abatete community at around 8:30 am and started shooting at some residents before moving on to the Ukpo Roundabout and shooting at numerous people at random, including some Anambra State Vigilante Operatives members.
Among other atrocities, it was reported that the attackers killed at least four of the vigilante men and set fire to some of their vehicles before escaping the area.
The ugly incident was corroborated by some videos currently trending on social media, showing the corpses of one of the vigilante operatives lying in a pool of blood at the Ukpo Roundabout while three were seen in a similar manner in Abatete.
One of the videos also showed Chimame Ezigbo, the president general of the Abatete Community, being taken to the hospital for immediate medical care after being shot in the stomach during the assault.
After being shot, another vigilante operative member was taken to the hospital for immediate medical care.

According to a source, at least four people were murdered in the incident, while the exact number of victims has not yet been determined.
When contacted, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, acknowledged that the command had sent some officers to the scene and was aware of the event.
He promised to provide further information on the incident once he received a full briefing.
