LAGOS GOVT ISSUES SAFETY ALERT TO RESIDENTS

Mr. Lanre Mojola, the Director General of the Safety Commission, has urged Lagos residents to assume accountability and increase their awareness of safety as the year draws to a close.

Speaking over the weekend to journalists about safety in our environment and the current weather, which is excessive heat and dry conditions, Mr. Mojola emphasised that the safety of lives must take priority over everything else. “Once there is life, there is hope for a better tomorrow. We can only hope for the best”, he said.

Mr. Mojola emphasized how unfavorable the weather is right now. Excessive heat brought on by dry weather can cause discomfort and health problems like fatigue, a high fever, impaired vision, and dehydration.

He cautioned locals against jeopardizing their security. To avoid fire outbreaks and potentially tragic situations, he specifically recommended against smoking in public areas and keeping flammable materials or fuel at home, stalls, or stores.

In order to guarantee that our homes, workplaces, and environment are safe and free from situations that could harm lives, Mr. Mojola urged everyone to support the government and be more cautious.
