On the first day of the 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League’s title-deciding phase in Lagos on Wednesday, table toppers Tojemarine Academy extended their winning streak.

Tojemarine defeated Corrections Boys 35-27 after overcoming a sluggish start in the first half thanks to strong efforts from Sulaiman Azeez and John Shagari.

Kano Pillars, three-time champions, lost to Lagos Seasiders 35-27, dealing a serious blow to their hopes of winning the championship.

After overcoming Sunshine Kings 35-27, holders Niger United continued their pursuit of a trophy.

Safety Shooters efficiently dispatched Benue Buffaloes 33-18 while Sokoto Rima Strikers earned a 32-23 victory over De Defenders.

In the women’s category, run-away leaders Safety Babes stretched their unbeaten streak to more than two years as they outclassed Rivers Queens 36-27.

Delta Queens goalkeeper Emuore Emamuzo produced a master-class display with vital saves for Delta Queens in their 34-18 win over Bendel Dynamos.

Rima Queens stunned Defender Babes 36-34.

Seasider Babes and COAS Babes played out 27-27 draw while Plateau Peacocks dug deep to earn a slim 29-27 victory over aging Imo Grasshoppers.
